She says…
Friday nights have undergone a magical transformation in our household – from the glitz and glam of yesteryear’s stage to the heartwarming rhythm of family fun in our living room. The key ingredient? A boisterous dance party featuring our kiddos, and of course, the timeless tunes of the 90s.
Once we hear the unmistakable keyboard riff of Steve Perry’s “Oh, Sherrie” (Sean’s doing), we know it’s on! And of course, Jag’s request is up next – “Evil Brat,” he screams! – code for Michael Jackson’s “Bad,” as featured in Despicable Me 3 (naturally).
As the night progresses, the transition to the Backstreet Boys is inevitable. But the best part is queuing up songs – armed with just one phone, Amazon Music, and a trusty set of speakers, we pass the device back and forth, each selecting tunes while the other eagerly anticipates the next musical surprise.
It’s the little things.
Our Friday nights may have changed, but they’ve evolved into something even more beautiful.
So, here’s to Friday nights filled with laughter, twirls, and the unmistakable beats – because family fun, in all its simplicity, and in whatever capacity, is where the real magic happens. Cheers to creating memories that will last a lifetime!
“Oh Sherrie!”
